Mount Pisgah Academy Skyliner Newsletter - May 2024

Dear MPA Community,

As the school year draws to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who have entrusted their children to us this past year. Together, we have achieved remarkable strides in academic excellence, spiritual growth, physical fitness, and creating lasting memories. Boarding schools offer unique opportunities for growth that are unparalleled, and we are honored to be a part of your children's journey.

We also wish to express our deep appreciation for our dedicated faculty and staff, whose unwavering commitment makes everything we do possible. Special thanks go to those who will not be returning next school year: Mark Galvez, Lucy Hall, Tyler Hedges, John Knowles, Donna Robertson, and Steven Williams. We are grateful for their contributions and wish them every success in their future endeavors.

Stay tuned for our next newsletter, where we will introduce the new staff members joining our MPA family.

San Cielo's East Coast Tour: A Melody of Memories

This April, the MPA choir embarked on a memorable tour along the East Coast, bringing their harmonious talents to schools and communities in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This extended break, not only showcased the choir's exceptional musical skills but also provided students with the opportunity to connect with peers and make lasting memories.

The tour was filled with performances at various elementary and junior academies, where the choir was met with enthusiasm and appreciation. Each performance blended choral classics and contemporary pieces, delighting audiences and inspiring younger students with the joy of music. The students had a wonderful time interacting with the local school children, sharing stories, and fostering a sense of community through their love of music.

A highlight of the tour was the grand finale performance at Nosoca Pines Ranch, where the choir performed for the "Welcome to the Family Retreat". The serene and picturesque setting of the camp provided the perfect backdrop for a heartfelt and soul-stirring performance. Choir members sang with passion and precision, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended the retreat.

Beyond their musical endeavors, the choir members made the most of their free time. They played games, bonded over shared experiences, and enjoyed the camaraderie of spending time together on the road. A particularly memorable day was spent at Carowinds, where the students had a blast on the roller coasters and other attractions, cementing friendships and creating unforgettable moments.
The extended tour was more than just a series of performances; it was an adventure filled with music, friendship, and personal growth. As the MPA choir returned home, they carried with them not only the applause and accolades from their audiences but also a treasure trove of memories that will last a lifetime. We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to their future performances, both near and far.

Celebrating the Class of 2024: A Weekend to Remember

This past weekend, our community gathered to celebrate a momentous occasion—the graduation of 20 outstanding students from the Class of 2024. Surrounded by a joyous assembly of family, friends, and faculty, these graduates marked the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

One of the weekend highlights was the announcement that the Class of 2024 had collectively received nearly $1.7 million in scholarships to Seventh-day Adventist Universities. This remarkable achievement underscores the academic excellence and commitment to faith-based education that our students have demonstrated. These scholarships will provide them with invaluable opportunities to further their education and pursue their dreams at institutions that share their values and vision for the future.

As we reflect on this graduation weekend, we are filled with pride and hope. The Class of 2024 has set a high bar with their accomplishments, and we eagerly anticipate the impact they will have in their future endeavors. From all of us in the community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to our graduates. We look forward to seeing where their journeys take them and the positive changes they will bring to the world.
