ACADEMICS

Academic success is a high priority at Mount Pisgah Academy. Students are given personal attention in small teacher-to-student ratio classes.  They may choose from three diploma tracks to meet graduation requirements. MPA is accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities, MSA CESS (Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools) and by the National Council for Private Schools

Our intellectual development objectives are:
  • Teach the student effective ways to learn, study, and to locate and organize information.
  • Encourage the student to develop habits of accuracy, self-discipline, and academic integrity.
  • Encourage the student to use critical and creative thinking skills in decision making and problem solving.
  • Develop intellectual competence in natural sciences and mathematics, arts and humanities, social sciences, and applied arts in harmony with Bible-based principles.
  • Assist the student in learning to communicate effectively through the avenues of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and non-verbal language, and to use communication skills in ways that enhance one’s Christian witness.
  • Provide a strong scholastic foundation for students who will be continuing formal education.
  • Help the student relate thinking skills to “real world” experiences.
  • Instill in the student a desire for life-long learning.
