PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As the first semester of this academic year concludes, we take a moment to reflect on the resilience and determination that defined our campus community in the face of Hurricane Helene. Despite the challenges, the collective hard work of our students, staff, and faculty shone brightly, reminding us of the strength we have when we come together.
Our maintenance department has been nothing short of heroic, working tirelessly to keep our facilities operational during water crises and ensuring that our campus remains a safe and functional environment for learning. Teachers adapted admirably, rewriting curriculum maps to accommodate lost time while maintaining the high standards we strive for in education. Their dedication ensured that learning continued uninterrupted, inspiring our students to push forward.
This week, we took another step forward by presenting our master plan to the officers at the conference office. Together, we identified key directions for improving our campus, envisioning a future that brings joy and honor to our families, staff, and church. This plan reflects our shared commitment to building an educational institution that glorifies God and nurtures our community.
As we enter the Christmas season, let us pause to cherish the blessings God has provided. May this holiday be a time for families to connect, reflect, and celebrate the joy of togetherness. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a restful break, filled with peace and gratitude for the journey we have shared this semester.
Warm Regards,
Dewald Coetzer
STUDENTS BRING BETHLEHEM TO LIFE
This Christmas season, our students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in "Return to Bethlehem," an interactive walkthrough that creatively tells the story of Jesus' birth. Held at Groce United Methodist Church, the event recreated a bustling Bethlehem marketplace, allowing visitors to step back in time to the night of the Nativity.
Dressed as shopkeepers, tailors, weavers, and even prisoners, the students played their roles with enthusiasm, sharing the buzz and rumors of a newborn King. Their performances brought the marketplace to life, offering a glimpse into what Bethlehem might have looked like on that historic night.
Volunteering during the holiday season gave the students a meaningful way to connect with the community and celebrate the reason for the season. "Return to Bethlehem" is a family-friendly event that draws hundreds of visitors each year, and our students were proud to contribute to its success. Their dedication and creativity helped make this cherished tradition even more memorable for all who attended.
GIRLS' CLUB CHRISTMAS BANQUET: A STARRY NIGHT TO REMEMBER
This year’s Girls’ Club Christmas Banquet was nothing short of magical. Under the theme “A Starry Night,” the event brought together students and staff for an evening of elegance, creativity, and festive joy.
The students arrived dressed in their finest attire, ready to celebrate the season in style. The gymnasium was transformed into a breathtaking wonderland, with decorations inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting, "The Starry Night." Twinkling lights and accents set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
The festivities began with a delicious meal that delighted everyone’s taste buds. Laughter and conversation filled the room as students and staff shared in the joy of the season. After dinner, the students channeled their inner artists, creating their own starry masterpieces. Guided by the inspiration of Van Gogh, their paintings were as unique and vibrant as the night itself.
The fun didn’t stop there. In a moment of camaraderie and good humor, everyone participated in learning a grand march. The room echoed with laughter as students and staff alike joined in the lively march, adding a touch of tradition and merriment to the evening.
The Girls' Club Christmas Banquet was truly a memorable night. It was a celebration of creativity, community, and the spirit of the holidays—an event that will be cherished by all who attended.
