Mount Pisgah Academy Skyliner Newsletter - January 2025

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Happy New Year from Mount Pisgah Academy!

As we step into this new year, we want to wish our Mount Pisgah Academy community a joyful and blessed 2025! We praise God for His continued guidance and the abundant blessings He has poured upon our efforts to share the gospel with a world needing hope and light.

We are thrilled to share that our second-semester enrollment has exceeded that of the first semester—a testament to God’s provision and the dedication of our staff and students. This growth inspires us to press forward in our mission with renewed passion and purpose.

The coming months are brimming with exciting opportunities. Winterfest 2025 promises to be a time of fellowship and fun, while the Carolina Conference Music Fest at the end of February will showcase the incredible talents of our student musicians and celebrate the gift of music and worship. During Spring Break, nine of our students will embark on a life-changing mission trip to India, spreading love and hope in underserved communities. Simultaneously, 19 students will travel to London for an enriching Symphony Study Tour, expanding their musical and cultural horizons.

Recently, 13 of our students deepened their spiritual journey at the Southern Union Prayer Conference. Additionally, our basketball teams just completed a tournament in Chattanooga, and are preparing for a tournament at Andrews University, where we look forward to cheering on their success and sportsmanship.

We are also making significant progress on our campus master plan, turning vision into reality. These developments represent our commitment to creating an environment where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

As we reflect on God’s blessings and anticipate the future, we are filled with gratitude for our MPA family. May God continue to lead us in our mission to serve Him and others in this new year.

Happy New Year, MPA family!

A SEASON OF PRAYER

Thirteen Mount Pisgah Academy students recently traveled to Camp Kulaqua in High Springs, Florida, to participate in the Southern Union Prayer Conference. This inspiring event brought together students from across the Southern Union for a long weekend dedicated to prayer, spiritual growth, and fellowship.

Throughout the retreat, students were divided into small, student-led groups, allowing them to connect with peers from other high schools in meaningful ways. These groups fostered a sense of community as students shared experiences, prayed together, and deepened their relationships with God.

Opportunities like this enhance students' prayer lives and empower them to bring renewed spiritual energy back to campus. This was evident as our students returned with a contagious enthusiasm for prayer and a desire to share their experiences with others.

In conjunction with this event, the MPA SDA Church recently hosted 10 Days of Prayer, with daily prayer sessions specifically focused on our students and staff. These moments of collective prayer underscore the blessing of a campus where God’s presence is celebrated and shared openly.

We are grateful for the freedom to pray together and for events like the Southern Union Prayer Conference, reminding us of the strength and unity in connecting with God and one another.

CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AT MPA

At Mount Pisgah Academy, we take pride in recognizing and celebrating the hard work and dedication of our students. Each quarter, students who achieve academic success by earning A/B Honor Roll, A Honor Roll, or Principal’s List are honored during a special assembly.

These remarkable students are called forward to receive recognition for their achievements and are treated to a sweet reward. For those on the Principal’s List, the celebration goes a step further. At the end of each semester, these students are invited to enjoy an off-campus meal with the principal—a cherished tradition that highlights their exceptional commitment to academic excellence.

We are thrilled to announce that 56% of our students earned a place on the honor roll this past semester! This accomplishment reflects their hard work, perseverance, and determination to excel in their studies.

As we look forward to the rest of the school year, we are excited to see even more students join the honor roll. To all our students, keep striving for greatness—you are capable of amazing things!

SNOWY FUN AT MPA

Last weekend, our campus was treated to a touch of winter magic with a light snowfall. Though the much-anticipated snowstorm brought only a few inches instead of the predicted accumulation, it didn’t dampen the students’ excitement!

From making snow cream and snow angels to engaging in spirited snowball fights, the students fully embraced the beauty of the snowy landscape. Laughter and joy echoed across campus as everyone took time to appreciate the unique experience.

We are thankful for God’s creation and the moments of wonder it brings, reminding us of His artistry and the simple joys found in nature.
