Beth Steen Grissom ('87) graduated from Mount Pisgah Academy in 1987 as a four-year senior, with the distinction of being part of the largest graduating class in the school's history. During her time at MPA, she served as Girls' Club president, head resident assistant, and worked in the programming department at Pisgah Valley Manor.

​

For Beth, Mount Pisgah Academy has always been much more than a school. It is part of her family's story. Her father and all of her uncles attended MPA, and her grandparents, Dr. Claude and Elizabeth Steen, helped build the Mount Pisgah Academy Church, where they were longtime members. From early childhood through adulthood, Beth has remained connected to the campus and church, always considering Pisgah a place to call home.

In 1989, Beth married her husband, Christopher. Together they raised three children—Anna, Sarah, and Andrew—all of whom followed in the family tradition of attending Mount Pisgah Academy.

In the early 2000s, Beth returned to MPA, this time as a staff member. She served for 13 years as the school's Marketing and Recruitment Director, founding the MPA recruiting team and leading its summer recruitment program for 12 years. Although her professional path has since taken her in new directions, she has never stopped recruiting for Pisgah! She continues to share the lasting impact the school has had on her life and the lives of her children, and she hopes that one day her grandchildren will carry on the tradition.

Today, Beth is a commissioned pastor serving as the Director of Women's Ministries and Prayer Ministries for the Carolina Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. She is also a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, passionate about helping individuals and teams discover, appreciate, and develop the unique gifts God has placed within each person.

Through every season of her life, Beth's connection to Mount Pisgah Academy has remained constant. She is grateful for the friendships, faith, opportunities, and sense of belonging that began on this beautiful campus and continue to shape her life today.
