Who is Mount Pisgah Academy?
Mount Pisgah Academy (MPA) is a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school for grades 9-12, located in Candler, North Carolina, about eight miles west of Asheville. The campus includes 130 acres with an indescribable view of the Southern Appalachians and the 5,721 foot peak of Mount Pisgah for which the school is named. MPA is part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist school system of almost 6,000 schools, over 1,000 of which are secondary schools.

A Holistic Approach
At MPA, we focus on the whole health of the student – physical, intellectual, and spiritual – enabling every student to reach their full potential. An excellent academic program integrates the latest technology with hands-on teaching. Our advanced diploma program allows interested students to take college-level classes and earn college credits while at MPA. At the same time, small classes make it easier for teachers to engage students and help them discover their natural strengths. Each student is given the tools and encouragement necessary to set and meet individual goals and every effort is made to help them achieve their personal best.
An Emphasis on Service
Serving others is an important part of Christian life. We strive to develop a heart for service in our students that will stay with them throughout their adult lives. Many MPA graduates go on to participate in year-long mission trips while in college and continue to seek ways to serve in their community as adults.
Ongoing opportunities are provided for MPA students to serve in the local community and around the world including:

Weekly Community Service Each Friday, students take turns participating in community service projects including preparing SonRise Kitchen for Sabbath breakfast, sorting clothes at the local thrift store, cleaning facilities at homeless shelters, and more.

School-Wide Mission Trips These mission trips are planned every four years so that every student can participate. Students may choose from local trips with little or no cost to trips to South America or Africa to name a few.

ShareHim Mission Trips An annual ShareHim mission trip takes students to a new country over spring break to either preach the gospel or help with the construction of a new church building.
